Parent Handbook
Welcome to Winzler Preschool!
At Winzler Preschool, part of Eureka City Schools, we are committed to creating joyful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate early learning environments. Our program focuses on nurturing social-emotional growth, encouraging creativity through play-based learning, and preparing children for lifelong success in TK and Kindergarten.
Key Highlights from Our Program:
-
Safe & Supportive Transitions: Parents/guardians must sign children in and out daily, with secure ID checks and timely drop-off/pick-up required.
-
Attendance & Wellness: We encourage regular attendance and ask families to keep children home when sick. Clear guidelines are provided for excused absences and illness-related exclusions.
-
Healthy Meals Provided: Nutritious meals and snacks are served daily at no cost, with accommodations available for allergies or special diets.
-
Potty Training Expectations: Children must be actively working toward independent toileting unless otherwise stated in their IEP.
-
Positive Behavior Support: We use a strengths-based approach to guide behavior and partner with families to support each child’s success.
-
Inclusive Learning: Our classrooms welcome all learners, with support from special education staff, BCBAs, speech therapists, and other specialists as needed.
-
Family Engagement: We value strong school-home partnerships. Families are invited to participate in conferences, classroom activities, and community-building events.
-
Communication Tools: We use the Brightwheel app for sign-in/out, announcements, photos, and easy parent communication.
